I have decided I am probably going to go on my own to Boston Sat-Tue one of the upcoming weekends.  I've never been there before.  Any suggestions for:

Restaurants for Sushi, Seafood, Italian
Bakeries
Nightlife, maybe upscale, but fun people no stuck up places
Something I should see and/or take pictures of, touristy or not
Anything I can get there that I can't get anywhere else : )

If you're into Italian, definitely check out the North End - Bostons Italian neighborhood.  Lots of great restaurants & so great sights.  Not to mention that its right on the Freedom Trail if you're doing the tourist thing.

While you're there, you can check out Modern Pastry or Mike's Pastry for your bakery kick.  Both have fantastic cannoli...

In terms of nightlife, check out Silvertone (for food), Mantra (for drinks/food), and the Fanneuil Hall area.  You can't go wrong.

For sushi check out Oishii, amazing but a very small space.

First of all, if you are not from somewhere that has a real winter (like me, I'm from San Francisco), get a hat.  This is key.

Anyway, I recently visited Boston for the first time and these are some of the tings that I really liked:
Bakery - Mike's Pastry
Breakfast - Sound Bites in Sommerville
Bar - The Rack (apparently the Patriots sometimes hang out there)

Have a fun trip!
