I took a salsa dancing class a few months back, but I haven't had a chance to try out my new moves on a real dancefloor. Any suggestions on where I should go? (Particularly if they do a lesson earlier in the evening so I can get a refresher course!)

You have a lot of choices.  Ryle's in Inman Square on Thursday nights, Green Street Grille in Central Square on Monday nights, Johnny D's in Davis Square on Sunday nights, the Greek Club in Central Square on Friday nights or An Tua Nua (something like that) on Wednesday nights.  For more info go to SalsaBoston.com.

Maybe I'll see you on the dance floor, I'm a competive ballroom and socials Salsa dancer!

Cheers,
Michelle

I know of a club/restaurant/lounge at 1270 Boylston Street, (really close to Fenway Park). It's called Sophia's. If you go early you can catch the sunset on the roof deck and prepare yourself for the salsa dance lessons. Very latin vibe here....fun place.

Sorry to ruin your plans but Sophia's closed about 7 months (or so) ago.  The event coordinators moved their operation to An Tua Nua in Kenmore Square.  Same people, different locations.  Cheers!

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions. My friend and I went to the Greek Club on Friday and had a great time! We definitely plan to go back!

Hi All!  Olaf from SalsaBoston.com here. Well, this conversation dates back to 2005, but what the heck.

For all the detailed info on Salsa in Boston, just log into www.salsaboston.com.

The site has been around for over 10 year years, surprised you haven't found it!  We've had  night running continuously at An Tua Nua near Kenmore Square on Wed's for seven years, also seven years of Salsa Harbor cruises, and dozens of special gala events.  Be sure to join our list for the weekly newsletter about everything going on.

Ladies, save me a dance.
